Amusan and Brume arrive in Birmingham for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Oluwatobiloba Amusan, the track’s reigning queen from Nigeria, has landed in Birmingham, England for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

At the just finished World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, Amusan made international news when she broke the 100-meter hurdles world record and won the event’s gold medal.

 

Long Jumper, an important Amusan ally from Ese Brume, is also present in Birmingham.

 

At the World Athletics Championships, Brume took home the silver medal in the long jump competition.

The two were warmly welcomed by officials and other athletes as they arrived at the Games Village on Thursday (today).

In their respective competitions at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Amusan and Brume took home gold medals.

The Commonwealth Games’ opening ceremony in 2022 will take place.
