Harry Kane surpasses Sergio Aguero’s record for goals in the EPL.
During his team’s 1-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur set a Premier League record for goals scored held by Manchester City icon Sergio Augero.
After a late header against Chelsea last weekend that preserved a point, Kane passed Aguero in the scoring charts.
The England captain now leads all Premier League clubs in goals scored with 185 after scoring the game-winning goal against Wolves in the second half. He is closing in on Newcastle United star Alan Shearer’s all-time scoring record.
Thierry Henry of Arsenal, Wayne Rooney of Manchester United, Alan Shearer of Arsenal, and others rank behind Kane in terms of goals scored (Newcastle, 148 goals).
Kane told BT Sport following Tottenham’s victory over Wolves: “It’s been a tremendous nine or 10 years in the Premier League. Hopefully, there will be a lot more time. I always enjoy winning.
“Beating your opponents is crucial. The boys deserve praise; they went deep. Better game starts are required. We must advance. But winning even when you’re not playing your best is a hallmark of a solid team.
Job well done Harry Kane.
