Scholarship for International Students at University of Montreal (UdeM), 2022–2023

 

The University of Montréal is committed to offering top-notch education and many possibilities for students to expand their knowledge, and it has more than 10,000 international students.

 

There are 49,193 undergraduate students and 18,195 graduate students at the University of Montreal. 27% of the university’s students are graduates, compared to 73% undergraduates. More than 67,389 students, including students from two of the university’s schools, are now receiving education there.

Scholarship Description:

The UdeM Exemption Scholarship is now available for Graduate, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in all subjects at the University of Montreal, Canada.

Scholarship Benefits:

Undergraduate Level:

The only criteria used to evaluate the financial award are the strength of the candidate’s academic record. Analysis of the results of the evaluation is classified into three levels as follows:

  • Level A: 11,998$ each year, 2 sessions for 30 credits, or 5,999$ each session with 15 credits or 399$ for one credit. 
  • Level B: 5,718$ each year, 2 sessions for 30 credits, or 2,859$ each session with 15 credits or 190.60$ for one credit.
  • Level C: 2,000$ each year, 2 sessions for 30 credits, or 1,000$ each session with 15 credits or 66.67$ for one credit.

Masters Level:

In order to help students to graduate as internationals, a scholarship for a limited waiver of the extra fees typically assessed to international students is also provided.

  • 9,420$ each year, for 3 sessions for 45 credits, or 3,140$ for each session which is equivalent for 15 credits. 

PhD Level:

In order to help students to graduate as internationals, a scholarship for a limited waiver of the extra fees typically assessed to international students is also provided.

  • 19,339$ each year for 3 sessions which is equivalent to 45 credits, 6,546$ each session which is equivalent to 15 credits available all the duration of studies. 

Eligibility requirements:

In order to receive a Global Excellence Graduate Fellowship, the applicant must meet all required criteria:

  • Applicants should be licensed students who are neither permanent residents nor Canadian citizens;
  • Has to be registered full-time in a program of study for the entire duration of his/her studies;
  • Must not benefit from any other form of tuition waiver through any other policy or measure. For example, French and Belgian francophone students already benefit from this type of exemption.

Applying procedure:

It is highly advised that students visit the official website and look at the interactive checklist (Compass), which clarifies the prerequisites for both application and admission.

 

Students will receive a code to access the “Student Centre” portal after selecting the programs of study they are interested in and completing the application. Students can follow their applications there and get their letter of proposed acceptance.

 

There is no need to submit a separate application for the scholarship. Successful students will be taken into consideration automatically following the review of application materials.

 

Students will be notified via email from the Université de Montréal of the amount of their exemption bursary after receiving their admissions offer.
