Liverpool vs. Man Utd: Rio Ferdinand names two players Ten Hag won’t play in the EPL match.
For their Premier League match against Liverpool on Monday night, Erik ten Hag will bench Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire, according to former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Both sides have yet to record their first victory of the new campaign.
Ten Hag has led United to losses in each of his contests, while Liverpool has suffered defeats to Fulham and Crystal Palace.
In United’s 4-0 loss to Brentford last weekend, Ronaldo captained the line; thus far, Maguire has partnered Lisandro Martinez in each of their Premier League contests.
Ferdinand responded to a question on his team selection prediction for United’s match against Liverpool by saying, “I have a huge one, I think Cristiano Ronaldo won’t play tonight, I think he [Ten Hag] won’t play.”
Something inside of me makes me believe that he won’t choose him and will instead choose to slightly thicken the middle of the field.
“I believe he will continue to try to force his own DNA onto this game.
“If Varane is healthy, I think he starts. Those are the two major players I believe will be involved today.
“I’m truly nervous about the game tonight.”
