Man Utd vs Liverpool: Rooney under fire over comment on Ronaldo
Former CNN host, Piers Morgan, has hit out at former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney after he called on manager Erik ten Hag to drop Cristiano Ronaldo against Liverpool.
Man United will on Monday night host Liverpool in a Premier League tie at Old Trafford.
Rooney had urged Ten Hag not to play Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford in Man United’s squad to face Jurgen Klopp’s side.
In his Times Column, Rooney, who is currently the manager of DC United, wrote: “I wouldn’t play Cristiano Ronaldo, and I wouldn’t play Marcus Rashford.
However, Rooney’s comment has prompted Morgan, a passionate Arsenal fan, to slam Rooney’s managerial record, calling on the former England striker to stop ‘endless jealous b*tching about Ronaldo.
Morgan tweeted on Sunday: “Rooney has a managerial win record of 28%, and his DC United team lost 6-0 yesterday.
“So I suggest he pipes down with the management advice and endless jealous b*tching about @cristiano whose talent, success & fitness levels all dwarf Rooneyp’s.”
