The Boko Haram terrorist group has on Monday, 21st September, killed a top commander of the Nigerian Army in Borno State.
It was gathered that the Army Commander, identified as Colonel DC Bako lost his life to an ambush set up by the Boko Haram fighters according to a report by Humangle.
Until his unfortunate death on Monday morning, Bako was the Commander, 25 Task Force Brigade fighting the insurgents in Borno State.
Meanwhile, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has alleged that the Boko Haram terrorists are now recruiting children to prosecute their acts of terrorism.
The Governor stated that unemployment was the reason Boko Haram insurgents are able to recruit idle youths.
Zulum made this known last week Thursday while receiving a committee of members of the House Of Representatives at his office in Maiduguri.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Zulum warned that the situation may worsen if there is no quick intervention.
According to the Borno governor, the number of able-bodied people residing in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps left with nothing to do is an indicator of the impending problems.
He suggested that these groups of persons be allowed to return to their homes and sustainable development is carried out in their communities before things escalate and get out of control
