BREAKING: Buhari presents 2021 budget Thursday.
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday present the 2021 Appropriations Bill to a Joint session of the National Assembly.
Buhari’s letter of request was read during plenary by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, in Abuja.
The letter reads: “May I crave the kind indulgence of the Distinguished Senate to grant me the slot of 11:00hrs on Thursday, 8th October, 2020, to formally present the 2021 Appropriation bill to the Joint Session of the National Assembly.
“While I look forward to addressing the Joint session, please, accept Mr. Senate President, the assurances of my highest regard.”
EndSARS: Naira Marley calls off planned protest.
Music superstar Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has called off a protest he organised to protest police brutality.
He informed on his verified Twitter handle the protest was called off because “a lot of changes are being made right now.”
According to him: “We won’t be protesting anymore because there’s a lot of changes being made right now.
“As a Marlian we will give them a week to see the changes and if there’s no changes we will start a mass protest. together we can.”
The Nigeria Police Force followed up the cancellation with an announcement its spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, would have an Instagram Live interview with Naira Marley to address fears by young Nigerians on SARS operations.
Jonathan Urges N/Delta Youths To Shun Violence.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday urged Niger Delta youths to shun violence and embrace peace for the development of the region and the country at large.
Jonathan gave the advice when the executive of Movement for Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta, paid him a visit in Yenagoa.
The former president cautioned them against restiveness in the region which he said supports the economy of the nation through production of oil and gas.
Jonathan noted that youths remained the focus of most government development policies, saying that any attempt to cause violence would work against their interests.
BREAKING: Gunmen kill monarch, four others in Plateau.
Gunmen have reportedly killed five persons, including a traditional ruler in Wereng community of Riyom local government area of Plateau.
The Nation gathered the gunmen stormed the village in the early hours of Tuesday and started shooting sporadically, leading to the killing of at least five persons.
Several others were said to be seriously injured.
