ItAnnkio Briggs, popular Niger Delta activist, has said President Muhammadu Buhari was anticipating the break out of a war in Nigeria.

Briggs made the remark in response to Buhari’s comment that the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, are a dot in a circle with nowhere to run to.

Buhari had made the controversial comment during an interview with Arise Tv, a few weeks ago.

The comment was widely believed that Buhari was referring to the Igbos not just IPOB members.

However, Briggs said Buhari spoke as a military general and a warlord.

Featuring on AIT, Briggs said:

“Well, unfortunately, or maybe historically as someone who witnessed the war and I’m a victim and some of my family members were victims of the civil war. I recall the civil war, I understand the civil war, I know what led to the civil war.

“The President in that interview was speaking as a warlord. He was speaking as a general at war with a country.

“That was the way he spoke. He referred to the Igbo people because I don’t know how many people from my community or state, who have businesses in Kano, Kaduna or Lagos. He was referring specifically to the Igbo people and reminding them that they have a lot of property and investments outside the area he has described as dot.

“The whole of Igbo nation is not Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a movement headed by a group of people. IPOB is not an identity of nationality. The President made a claim which made me to react.

“What is this time? It means he is anticipating a war. He said this time there will be no access to the ocean. What does he mean?”

  5. Jacob Zuma, former president of South Africa, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for contempt of court.

Judge Sisi Khampepe, on Tuesday, said Zuma was found guilty of contempt of court following his refusal to appear before a graft panel.

“The Constitutional Court can do nothing but conclude that Mr Zuma is guilty of the crime of contempt of court,” the Judge said.

Recall that the 79-year-old Zuma was forced to step down as president in 2018 over corruption allegations.

The former president had defied an order by the constitutional court in January to appear at an inquiry into corruption while he was president.

  6. Nollywood actress and DG of ROK Studios, Mary Remmy Njoku has waded into the controversy surrounding blacklisting of actresses Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing Sunday by Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

CLIMAXTREND had reported that TAMPAN in its notice suspending Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing accused the actresses of “reckless accusations, abuses and embarrassment of our sector“.

The communique noted that an offence against one is an offence against all, adding that the association will no longer tolerate “infringements”.

The TAMPAN BoT further declared that its action against Iyabo Ojo does not mean it supports acts of criminal behaviour in whatever guise.

But, Njoku in an Instagram post, reacting to the ban, said that there was nothing like overreaction when there are allegations of rape or child molestation.

    Mary expressed disappointment in TAMPAN.

She commended the actresses for using their platforms to speak up against such acts.

    Her post read,

“Where there are allegations of rape or child molestation there is no such thing as overreaction. Today in Nigeria I don’t believe we are reacting enough.

“I stand with and want to thank these two strong women who have used their time and platforms to speak up against it. You both are my crush today and always.”

Why I Celebrated Nnamdi Kanu’s Rearrest – Joe Igbokwe Reveals
    ByClimaxtrend
    JUN 30, 2021
Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed why he celebrated the rearrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
CLIMAXTREND had reported that shortly after Kanu’s arrest, Joe Igbokwe, who is an aide to the Governor of Lagos State, shared a photo of himself kneeling and raising his hands in thanksgiving over the arrest of Kanu.
However, in a post he shared later, Igbokwe gave reasons for celebrating the arrest of the leader of the secessionist group.
According to him, Nnamdi Kanu asked his boys to behead him anywhere they see him.
“Nnamdi asked his boys to behead me anywhere they see me. They did not spare my Children as they extended the same fatwa to them.
“He also did not spare the names of every other person who speaks against him dream land, Biafra. While they were looking for me I sort the face of God hours on end because I know that to kneel is to win. It was a big battle.
“Friends were calling me , family members shouted from the roof top that I should lie low. My Children said I was putting them in constant danger.
“My family lived in fear. When they could not get me they resorted to calling my phones to pour invectives.
“They threatened my Children at the drop of a hat. On my Facebook page the Children of Hate Nnamdi Kanu trained and nurtured for years in abuse and hate, bigotry, primordial sentiments, ethnic preoccupation will come in their thousands to rain abuses with all kinds of unprintable words.
“They cannot even read what you wrote to understand the trajectory . I endured it all. When they noticed that I am not bothered they resorted to propaganda and heckling,”
    He wrote.
