However, Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted a 95th winner in that game, was left on the bench for the visit of the Toffees, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer citing fatigue.
United went in front in the first half after Anthony Martial fired high into Jordan Pickford’s net from a Bruno Fernandes pass.
The Red Devils failed to add to their advantage, before Andros Townsend finished off a sweeping counter attack in the second half.
Everton thought they had the winner after Yerry Mina tapped in a cross, but VAR overruled it for offside.
United now have 14 points from seven games.
