Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has predicted today’s UEFA Champions League tie between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Owen also predicted Manchester City’s Champions League tie against Club Brugge at the Etihad Stadium.

Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “The Reds have made a brilliant start to this campaign with three wins from three. After winning a thriller in Madrid, I’m expecting a win at Anfield.

“Salah has five in three group games, and I can see him scoring and Liverpool winning this 2-0.”

Commenting on the Man United vs Club Brugge match, Owen said, “Who saw City’s defeat to Palace coming? City have been playing so well of late, but these things can happen.

“I’m expecting a response here though, having won 5-1 in Belgium. I’m going for 3-0 City.”

The kick-off time for all the games is 9 pm.

  4. Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has reacted to his side’s Champions League 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Tuesday night.

Solskjaer also singled out Cristiano Ronaldo for praise following the 36-year-old’s performance for Man United against Atalanta.

Solskjaer’s side drew with Atalanta, thanks to Ronaldo’s brace as Josip Ilicic and Duvan Zapata also scored for the home side.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer said at his post-match press conference: “It was a tight game, flowed both ways, their two goals were very tight and we thought the first was offside, I thought he interfered with David de Gea’s view, but Cristiano [Ronaldo] is just incredible if there is anyone you want a chance to fall to and a difficult chance, it is just incredible.

“That is football, no one can question the character of these players because they don’t ever give up and give in, they just keep going. We had to make changes and they worked.

“The goal was a proper team goal, great quality on the passing, four or five or six passes before that little exchange as well.

“You don’t plan to concede a goal, I thought it was offside, usually he would save that one. The atmosphere was electric, very physical and hard to play against.”

Man United’s next game is against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
