Former Liverpool stars, Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp, have criticised goalkeeper Alisson Becker following Liverpool’s Premier League 3-2 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

An own goal from Becker and a goal each from Pabio Fornals and Kurt Zouma ensured West Ham defeated Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Divock Origi did score for Jurgen Klopp’s side at the London Stadium.

But Carragher and Redknapp believe Becker was partly to blame for all three goals the team conceded.

“Oh yeah, he’s got to save it. He [Alisson] should have done better on all three goals, no doubt about that,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“In some ways, I’m thinking, “You know what, I would rather run back”. What do we gain out of an offside? Nothing, we’ve just got the ball 60 yards from the goal or they’re running through on our goalkeeper.

“Liverpool do that an awful lot and I think when you’re playing against Liverpool, it feels like the opposition will run through at the goalkeeper.”

On his part, Redknapp added, “It’s a big mistake and the goalkeeper has got to do better as well. Alisson had a really poor day.”
