Jubilation As Police Arrest Notorious Cultist, Bobrisky In Rivers State

 

 

 

 

 

The Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Police Force on Saturday, arrested a most-wanted armed robber, cultist and kidnapper popularly known as Bobrisky of Gokana.

 

 

According to information gathered by Naija News, he was arrested on Saturday morning at Korokoro in the Tai Local Government Area of the state.

 

The sting operation that led to his arrest was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Bori, Superintendent Bako Angbashim.

 

 

Bobisky, whose real name is Honest Digbara, was paraded at the headquarters of the Rivers Police Command on Mosco Road, Port Harcourt, leading to wild jubilation across the state.

 

Bobrisky, a terror to many residents in the Ogoni area of the state, has been linked to most of the criminal activities recorded in the area.

 

It will be recalled the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, had earlier expressed worries about plans by the notorious cultist to unleash mayhem in the south-south state.

 

 

 

Nigeria Becoming A Failed Country, Divided Under Buhari – Obasanjo

 

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday noted that Nigeria under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is becoming a failed nation and divided.

 

Obasanjo stated that the country needs to be rescued from the brink of collapse.

 

He said this while delivering a speech titled, ‘Moving Nigeria Away from Tipping Over’ at a consultative dialogue attended by representatives of Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Northern Elders Forum, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo and Pan Niger Delta Forum.

 

The event was held in Abuja on Thursday.

 

Obasanjo also said the country is becoming a ‘basket case’ economically.

 

 

 

Hike In Food Prices Is Only For A Little While – COS Gambari

 

Speaking on Thursday during the national food security council meeting, held at the State House, Abuja, Mr. Gambari said the recent prices of grains show a significant decline which suggests that the decrease would soon be reflected across the country as new products are brought into the market.

 

He said, “Yesterday, my office as the secretariat, National Food Security Council, met with the agricultural commodity association to ascertain the root causes of the recent spike in food prices and craft mitigating strategies to what could be a potential crisis.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Mr. Bill Gates, and Aliko Dangote have applauded the healthcare delivery system in Borno State.

FEPSAN commends FG for ban on food, fertilizer imports

 

President of the Fertilizer Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN), Thomas Etuh has commended President Buhari for re-emphasising the need to sustain the ban placed on the importation of fertilizer and some staple food items into Nigeria, saying the presidential pronouncement is a demonstration of the determination of the president to ensure self-sufficiency in food production.

 

Etuh added that the president has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development of the agricultural sector in the country, urging Nigerians to support efforts towards making the country self-sufficient in food production.

 

 

 

Edo election: IG bars security aides from accompanying VIPs, political appointees

 

The force PRO says the IG had warned that anyone who flouted the order would be severely reprimanded.

 

The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr Mohammed Adamu has barred security aides from accompanying VIPs and political appointees during the Sept. 19 governorship election in Edo.

 

The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr Frank Mba said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

 

He said the IG had warned that anyone who flouted the order would be severely reprimanded.

 

Mba said the I-G had also deployed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Research and Planning, Mr Adeleye Oyabade to supervise the general security arrangement for the election.

 

 

 

APC accuses Gov Makinde of wasting Oyo money on his alleged Vice Presidential ambition

 

Members of the APC in Oyo state accuse Makinde of going to Niger State to seek political control using the state’s resources.

 

The All Progressives Congress Professionals in Oyo State (APC-P) has called on Governor Seyi Makinde to stop wasting the state’s resources on the People’s Democratic Party to push his alleged ambition to contest for the position of the Vice President in 2020.

 

The APC-P at its meeting on Friday, September 11, 2020, in Ibadan asked the governor to concentrate on governance rather than endearing himself to political jamboree outside the state.

 

Access Bank hacker Chris Ihebuzor arrested by EFCC

 

 

Chris Ihebuzo, who claimed to have hacked Access Bank and extracted more than 2,000 customer’s data has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,(EFCC).

 

The anti-graft agency announced the arrest of the self-acclaimed hacker in an Instagram post.

 

He is being held for cyberstalking.

 

According to the anti-graft agency, Chris was arrested in Benin City, Edo State after it received a petition from a new generation Bank.

 

Allegations against Chris was that in an online video, he claimed to be in possession of some personal information and Biometric Verification Numbers of over 2000 customers of the bank, which he claimed to have obtained after hacking into its database from his personal laptop computer.

 

 

 

Pregnant woman shot dead in Lagos

 

A bloody clash between suspected cult groups at Aleke community in Ikorodu, Lagos on Thursday has led to the killing of one pregnant woman identified as Risikat Saliman.

 

Saliman, 35, was shot dead after dozens of suspected cultists invaded Aleke community market around 8 pm and started shooting sporadically.

 

The Baale of Aleke Adeniyi Okemati said the hoodlums had gunned down the mother of two before the arrival of policemen from Imota division.

 

“I don’t know why they came and be terrorising our people. We want Lagos government to intervene so that we can collectively curb the menace to enable my people sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.

 

 

 

COVID-19: Delta govt orders reopening of cinemas, hotels & restaurants, issues guidelines

 

The government of Delta State has ordered the reopening of cinemas; film Houses, eateries and hotel restaurants in the state amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu during a press conference in the State capital of Asaba.

 

Aniagwu however said during the press conference that cinemas and other hotel restaurants should operate at 50 per cent of their capacity and ensure the observation of all COVID-19 preventive protocols issued by the NCDC.

 

He further added that restaurants in hotels could now operate but without a buffet.

 

Aniagwu held that; “if people must be allowed to eat in the hotel restaurants, the officials must be the ones to serve them.
